A Photo A Day Project.

Day 21: Today concludes 3 days of teaching. You could call it a mini retreat – intensive workshops learning portraiture and editing techniques.

My mum delivers my children back to me as everyone else heads home. I am well and truly exhausted and am wondering what I can quickly ‘snap’ for my photo a day when Jack tells me he is not feeling well and wants to go to bed (you know they really are sick when they want to put themselves to bed). He has been on medication to help him recover from an infected sore under his nose and it seems to have made him unwell tonight.

He has just put on my jacket to warm himself up and it looks so snug on him that he’s about to become my photo a day. I never miss an opportunity to record a part of my children’s development – it doesn’t matter to me if they are sick, injured, happy, sad, tired, cranky, laughing, crying, excited or mad – all emotions and moments are frozen in time by an image to mark the occasion.

Camera settings: ISO 320; f5; 1/100th on 100mm 2.8L macro lens with flash fired and diffused.
