A Photo A Day Project.

Day 8: I’m too conscious of the fact today is my last full day in Sydney. I keep toying with the idea of staying longer, changing my plans, finding reasons to stay another day… I wish.

I have looked at this dead tree in the paddock all week and examined how the light falls on it at different times of the day. I love the contrast between the brilliant blue sky and the stark grey of the dead branches. Today I connect with the tree in the strangest of ways; I feel exposed and raw (emotionally) and yet I’m surrounded by sunshine and love. The tree becomes my photo a day in an attempt to match my conflicting mood – black & white.

Camera settings for this image are: ISO 320; f5.6; 1/160th – converted to black & white in Adobe Lightroom.

In an attempt to lighten my mood I also took photos of the kids and other items that caught my eye. The light was just wonderful this afternoon. Below are a small collection.
