Children’s Photographer, Sheryn Ellis, photographs Elise for the Freckle Project.
Continuing with my personal project, called The Freckle Project I’d like to introduce you to Elise.
Elise, aged 10, is Freckle Project portrait number 3. If you’d like to know how the Freckle Project started, please click here.
I first met Elise when she was 5 years old. Elise and my youngest child, Cate, attend the same school and they have been class mates and/or ‘besties’ for most of their young school life. We’ve shared sleep overs, birthday parties and play dates for more than 5 years now so I felt comfortable asking Elise’s mum if Elise would like to be in the freckle project. I’ve always loved her full face of freckles and those perfect brown ringlets and I was super excited about photographing her.
I consider Elise to be a lovely, quiet, gentle child (especially when I compare her to my loud, outgoing, boisterous 10 year old!). Elise loves animals too and after lots of guinea pig cuddles the girls went and swung from the rope tied in the jacaranda tree.
Tanya, who runs, Triple Oh Photography assisted me with this shoot. We love working together and it’s always a good excuse to catch up 🙂
I arranged for Elise to have a play date with Cate after her photo shoot as an extra little thank you for being apart of my project – both girls were happy, tick!!
My number one goal for the freckle project is to empower children, to show them what I see, their amazing, natural beauty, that childlike innocence shining in their eyes and those unique personalities packaged up in a bundle of freckled awesomeness!!
I’ve created a short clip of images. [youtube id=”ZqfowFY6hmQ” <iframe width=”600″ height=”350″ frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen>]
