A Photo A Day Project.

Day 13: I love ‘play days’. What is a play day? It’s a day when I just go out with no plans and find something to shoot. Today was one of those days and to make it even better it was a photographers meet-up. We had agreed to meet up mid afternoon and just see what happens. I have my 3 kids with me so I hope I will end up with some portraits. We go to one of our favourite local photography locations, Emerald Lakes here on the Gold Coast.

There are no set plans, just a time, a place and a camera in my hand. My favourite shots are below.

This one became my photo a day as it portrays the sense of solitude I am feeling at the moment while my husband is away and out of contact. Camera settings: ISO 320; f4; 1/125th. Converted to black & white.

This next photo was a heap of fun. It took extensive bribing, to get the kids to all sit still for 2 minutes while this was shot, however we got there in the end. I love how each child’s expression is similar yet different. I would photograph children all day everyday if I could as they continually surprise and delight me with their expressive faces. Sheryn-Ellis_APAD_d13_blog2

This gigantic wall provided a perfect canvas for us to play with shadows. Sheryn-Ellis_APAD_d13_blog4

One of the last shots of the day was this crazy shot of the kids striking a pose 🙂
